I suffered from anorexia and bulimia for a DECADE. I spent years in quasi recovery — playing the over-achieving, perfectionistic, people-pleaser. While people saw “leadership potential,” my mental health was horrible and my life behind closed doors was strict diets, binge eating (the shame! the guilt!), and always trying to buckle down and get things back on track come Monday.
But bit by bit I slowly rewired my mindset around food, my body, and myself. Food and body image used to control my life, but I RECLAIMED all of the time, energy, and emotion I poured into making myself smaller and put it towards accepting myself and making my dreams a reality.
